Hoth was a planet in the Star Wars universe, famous for its extremely cold conditions. Completely covered in snow and ice, its inhospitable conditions combined with the fact that the asteroid belt surrounding the planet made navigation to and from Hoth difficult to make it the perfect location for the Rebel Alliance's base of operations. The Rebels stayed there for at least a year before the Empire found them using probe droids.
Hoth's native wildlife included predatory, semi-sentient wampas and tauntauns, which were domesticated by the Rebels and used as mounts and pack animals.
